Sort Your Rego Without The Stress
Rego always seems to run out at the worst time. You’re selling a car, buying one, or realise the sticker’s expired and now you’re rushing to get it sorted.
At Pialba Brake, Clutch & Steering in Hervey Bay, we take the hassle out of the process. As a Queensland Authorised Inspection Station, we’re approved to carry out the safety inspection needed for registration on cars, trailers and caravans.
We check the essentials — brakes, tyres, lights, steering, suspension — and if everything passes, you walk out with the paperwork ready for Transport and Main Roads. If something’s not right, we’ll point it out clearly and can fix it on the spot if you choose. No runaround, no confusion — just rego done properly.

Cars, Trailers & Caravans Checked Properly
We’ve seen it all: family cars with worn tyres, caravans pulled out of storage with dodgy brakes, trailers with lights that barely work. These are the simple things that can hold up your registration — and they’re the things we know to look for.
Our crew carries out full rego inspections, explains what we find in plain language, and only recommends repairs if they’re genuinely needed to pass. Whether you’re renewing after a lapse or putting a vehicle back on the road, we’ll make sure it meets Queensland safety standards and is safe to drive.
Once it’s signed off, you’re good to go — no surprises, no wasted trips, just a vehicle that’s ready for the road.
Do I need a roadworthy certificate to register my car?
Yes—in Queensland, any unregistered vehicle or vehicle being transferred between owners requires a valid roadworthy certificate before registration can be completed. This includes cars, trailers, caravans and motorcycles. The certificate confirms your vehicle meets minimum safety standards and must be presented to Transport and Main Roads during the rego process.
How do I register an unregistered vehicle?
To register an unregistered vehicle, you’ll need a valid roadworthy certificate, proof of identity, proof of ownership, and a completed registration application. Once the roadworthy inspection is passed, you can lodge the documents with Queensland Transport. Some cases may also require a vehicle inspection number (VIN) check if the vehicle hasn’t been previously registered in Queensland.
Can I drive to a registration inspection without rego?
Yes, but only under specific conditions. In Queensland, you’re allowed to drive an unregistered vehicle directly to or from a registration inspection or to a place of repair—but only if the vehicle is safe to drive and you’re travelling the most direct route. It’s best to book your inspection in advance and avoid making any unnecessary stops.
